Burger Revelation in Edmonton @ The Burger's Priest.

Haven't blogged for a while, but there hasn't been much to write about lately on the food scene in Edmonton. Until recently that is. A new restaurant opened up downtown called The Burger's Priest and my hubby and I decided to check it out. It originated in Ontario and this is the first expansion to the west side of the country. It's located in the corner area of 109 st and Jasper Ave.

The Vatican City
As you walk in you see white walls, chrome finishes and a general sense of organisation and cleanliness. There is a mixture of low and high tables and almost all of them are taken when we arrive, which is always a good sign at a burger joint. There is a till area where you place your orders and a pick up counter. Turns out there is also a secret menu that is not posted that you can find online if you can answer the right question. But we'll get into that at a later date.

The Priest
My husband and I both went for milkshakes; he the strawberry, myself the black & white. Both were creamy, cold and very tasty.

Hubby got the Vatican City, a double cheeseburger squished in between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches and a regular order of fries. Apparently the grilled cheese sandwiches slide apart while you're eating it, but it is still tasty as all get out. He also said 'Why would you have a bun when you can have grilled cheese sandwiches?'

I got the Priest. This one consists of a cheeseburger topped with what they call 'The Option'. This is 2 portabello mushroom caps filled with cheese, sauteed and then panko crusted and deep fried. Can you say yum? I also got the chili cheese fries, which you can't go wrong with in my opinion.

This will definitely be a place we visit again in the near future. The burgers are delicious, juicy and very filling. And we have to go back to try out the secret menu.

Mmmm chili cheese fries! So cheesy!
